The problematics of the concept of 'night' in the discourse of scientific analysis
// Man and Culture.

DOI: 10.7256/2306-1618.2013.1.192 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=192
Abstract:
This article describes the issues underlying the concept of 'night' in modern cultural, philosophical and art research. It examines the scientific development of the concept of 'night' as a psychological phenomenon, as a natural-cultural factor in the socialization of individuals, and as a broad field in the formation of cultural archetypes of the collective unconscious. The article also identifies patterns of alternating historical periods (beginning with prehistory and ending with the Modern Period), which in turn is dominated by 'day' and 'night' types of social consciousness. This alternation is projected to replace the artistic styles of the 18th to 20th centuries, and at its point of greatest acceleration it provides the basis for the formation of postmodern forms of culture and artistic and aesthetic practices.

// Man and Culture.

DOI: 10.7256/2306-1618.2013.1.316 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=316
Abstract:
The present article is devoted to the study of independent spatial mobility of Ukrainian educated women from the historical perspective and in terms of gender analyses. The article shows that the process of women gaining better social positions enabled the development of new social values of the generation of “new women" who denied the “women’s place is at home” principle and aimed at spatial and intellectual emancipation as prerequisites of their economic independence. The gender analysis of the process of institutionalization of Ukrainian women in the public space allows to describe the principle means of emancipation that include social, professional and geographic mobility combined with new ways of physical activities and practices. The article also defines the key factors contributing to the expansion of spatial context of women’s lives and their achievement of spatial freedom. These are economic, moral and ethical, socio-cultural and didactic factors. The results of the research show that fashion is one of the most efficient ways to control physical freedom of women. Liberalization of fashion in late XIX - early XX centuries resulted from the integration of Ukrainian urban women into the public space and the labour market and women’s spatial emancipation. This enabled the gender democratization of the body image of Ukrainian educated women.

DOI: 10.7256/2306-1618.2013.1.350 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=350
Abstract:
This article presents a study of one of the most outstanding and mysterious guitarists of the second half of the twentieth century -- Tommy Bolin. Particular attention is paid to the communicative requirements of becoming a guitarist in the music business. The analysis of his life story in rock still generates many versions of his early demise. The author considers the unexpected version of 'branding error' to be one of the circumstances that indirectly, on a psychological level, became the cause of the guitarist's growing drug addiction. In addition, the article presents a detailed overview of many recorded rarities featuring Tommy Bolin, including illegally manufactured domestic 'pirate' recordings. Given the current situation in high-tech developments, the music industry has seen better days, and its future requires a new platform that will allow the building of a healthy relationship between audiences and musicians. In this regard, the article touches upon the legal issues of reproducing phonographic releases in digital format.
