Private policy

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) has been developed in accordance with the requirements of applicable personal data legislation and defines the procedure for processing and protecting personal information about Users that AURORA Group, s.r.o. (hereinafter referred to as the “Publisher”) may receive during Users’ use of the Publisher’s Service (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).

Before using the Service, Users must familiarize themselves with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. Use of the Service in any form constitutes the User’s unconditional consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the conditions for processing their personal information specified therein. If the User disagrees with the terms of the Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”), the User must refrain from using the Service.

1.2. The Privacy Policy, as well as any part thereof, may be changed by the Publisher without special notice and without payment of any compensation in connection therewith. The new version of the Privacy Policy comes into force from the moment it is posted on the Publisher’s official website at https://aurora-journals.com:

1.3. By accepting the terms of this Policy, the User thereby expresses their consent to the Publisher’s processing of the User’s data for the purposes provided for by this Policy, as well as to the transfer of the User’s data to third parties in the cases listed in this Policy.

The said consent may be withdrawn by the User only upon written notice to the Publisher no less than 180 days before the expected date of termination of the use of the data by the Publisher.

Use of the Service through a web browser that accepts cookies means the User’s expression of consent to the Publisher’s collection and processing of cookie data for the purposes provided for by this Policy, as well as to the transfer of cookie data to third parties in the cases listed in this Policy.

Disabling and/or blocking by the User of the web browser’s option to accept cookies means a prohibition on the Publisher’s collection and processing of cookie data in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

1.4. The Publisher does not verify the accuracy of personal information provided by Users, except in cases provided for by the User Agreement, according to which the User is obliged to provide confirmation of the accuracy of the personal information provided by them about themselves.

2. COMPOSITION OF INFORMATION ABOUT USERS THAT THE PUBLISHER RECEIVES AND PROCESSES

2.1. This Policy applies to the following types of personal information:

2.1.1. Personal information posted by Users independently when creating their own account on the Publisher’s website and in various personal zones (“Author’s Zone,” “Review Zone,” etc.), other personal information to which the User grants the Publisher access through third-party websites or services, or personal information posted by Users in the process of using the Service.

Personal information obtained in this way may include, but is not limited to, the following data: surname, first name, patronymic; academic degree, title; place of work (including postal address), position; contact information (email address, telephone); delivery address for the order.

The User is prohibited from providing personal data of third parties without permission obtained from such third parties for such dissemination, or if such personal data of third parties was not obtained by the User themselves from publicly available sources of information.

2.1.2. This Policy extends its effect, along with other Users, also to reviewers who provide services to the Publisher on the basis of concluded contracts. By sending personal information and performing review services using the Service or by email, reviewers thereby express consent to the processing of the following personal data: surname, first name, patronymic; gender, age; date and place of birth; data of an identity document; registered address at the place of residence and actual address of residence, address for informing an individual; telephone number (home, mobile); email address; citizenship; data of documents on education, qualifications, professional training, information on advanced training; marital status, information on family composition, which may be needed by the Publisher to provide the reviewer with benefits provided for by tax legislation; profession (name in accordance with qualification directories, qualification); academic degree; attitude to military duty; information on income received under service contracts with the Publisher; information on business and other personal qualities of an evaluative nature.

2.1.3. This Policy extends its effect also to candidates for existing vacancies at the Publisher, along with other Users. Candidates for vacancies, by sending a resume to the Publisher using the Service or by email, for the purpose of passing an interview and further employment, thereby express consent to the processing of the following personal data: surname, first name, patronymic, date of birth, citizenship, city of residence, contacts (telephone, email address), places of work and dates of work, as well as other data specified by candidates for vacancies in the resume.

2.1.4. The Publisher guarantees the User the confidentiality of information about the User’s purchases and orders, which is transferred by the Publisher to third parties solely for the purpose of making payment for the order by the payment system; other cases of transfer of the said information to third parties are not allowed.

2.1.5. Data automatically transmitted to the Service in the process of their use with the help of software installed on the User’s device, including IP address, cookie data.

2.1.6. Data additionally provided by Users at the request of the Publisher in order to fulfill the Publisher’s obligations to Users in relation to the use of the Service.

2.1.7. Other information about Users, the collection and/or processing of which is established by the Publisher’s user agreement.

3. PURPOSES OF COLLECTING AND PROCESSING INFORMATION ABOUT USERS

3.1. The Publisher collects and processes only that information about Users, including their personal data, which is necessary to fulfill the Publisher’s obligations to provide the Service, to respond to a question asked by the User when sending a message using the Service, as well as to fulfill obligations provided for by the user agreement.

3.2. The Publisher may use Users’ personal information for the following purposes:

3.2.1. identification of a party within the framework of contracts between the User and the Publisher and ensuring compliance with civil legislation and other regulatory legal acts;

3.2.2. provision of services to Users using the Service and for the fulfillment of its obligations to them, including clarification of payment data, processing of orders and requests, and further improvement of the Service, development of new services and offerings;

3.2.3. implementation by the Publisher of its duties and rights under contracts concluded with Users of the Service who provide review services to the Publisher (hereinafter referred to as “Reviewers”) (including calculation of remuneration, calculation and payment of taxes, fees, and contributions for compulsory social and pension insurance provided for by applicable legislation, submission by the Publisher of reporting established by legislation in relation to individuals, including personalized accounting information to authorized state bodies, income tax information to the authorized tax authority, information to the authorized social insurance authority; transfer of remuneration or other payments to Reviewers to a bank account; quality control of Reviewers’ work);

3.2.4. sending messages and requests concerning the use of the Service, feedback with the User;

3.2.5. fulfillment of marketing tasks, conducting statistical and other research based on depersonalized data;

3.2.6. informing the User by means of electronic mailings. By providing their data, the User agrees to receive messages of an advertising and informational nature and service messages (mailings).

3.3. Mobile applications may collect anonymous data about the user’s location in order to ensure more correct operation with the choice of payment method. Mobile applications may collect anonymous usage statistics.

3.4. The User hereby expresses their consent to the transfer of personal information about them to the Publisher’s partners and third parties for the purposes provided for by clause 3.2 of this Privacy Policy.

3.5. If it is necessary to use personal information about the User for purposes not provided for by this Policy, the Publisher requests the User’s consent to such actions.

4. PROCESSING AND PROTECTION OF INFORMATION ABOUT USERS

4.1. Personal information about Users is stored in accordance with applicable legislation.

4.2. Personal information about Users is not transferred to third parties, except in the following cases:

4.2.1. The User has expressed consent to such actions.

4.2.2. The transfer is necessary in order to ensure the functioning of the Service and/or its individual functional capabilities.

4.2.3. The transfer is provided for by applicable legislation.

4.2.4. In order to ensure the possibility of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the Publisher and/or third parties in cases where the User violates the terms of the user agreement.

4.2.5. If the Publisher participates in a merger, acquisition, or any other form of sale of part or all of its assets. In this case, all obligations to comply with the terms of this Policy are transferred to the acquirer of the Publisher’s assets.

4.3. 4.5. Users have the right, upon request, to receive from the Publisher information concerning the processing of their personal data.

The Publisher takes all necessary and sufficient organizational and technical measures to protect personal information about Users from unlawful or accidental access to it, destruction, modification, blocking, dissemination of personal information, as well as from other unlawful actions with it. These measures include, in particular, internal verification of data collection, storage, and processing processes and security measures, including measures to ensure the physical security of data to prevent unauthorized access to personal information.
