Abstract: The object of the study is the metaphor terms in the veterinary terminology system in modern German. The processes of metaphorization of veterinary vocabulary are considered as one of the sources of terminology formation, the analysis of veterinary metaphors in semantic, structural and etymological relations is carried out. Semantically, the terms-metaphors of the veterinary terminological system were grouped by the authors into 5 thematic groups, namely, "Animal body parts", "Diseases, their symptoms and pathologies", "Animals and living organisms", "Veterinary instruments and medicines" and "Diagnostic and therapeutic measures". Such types of metaphorical transference have been identified both by similarity of form and appearance, by similarity of functions, by similarity of impression, by similarity of location and by similarity in the way actions are presented. The main research methods determined by its purpose are semantic, structural and functional, the method of linguistic observation and description, in addition, elements of quantitative analysis are used. The material for the analysis was metaphorical terms in the field of veterinary medicine, taken from the "German-Russian veterinary Dictionary" by V. A. Beskhlebnov, as well as the veterinary lexicon in German. The main conclusions of the study include that, structurally, the most productive word-formation model among veterinary metaphor terms are determinative composites, followed in descending order by terminological phrases divided into attributive, genitive, attributive-genitive and prepositional, derivative metaphors are less productive and isolated cases of one-word metaphors have been identified. From an etymological point of view, the veterinary terminology system presents metaphor terms mainly of German origin, borrowings from other languages are found in small numbers. Metaphorical terms are firmly rooted in veterinary discourse, being one of the sources of replenishment of veterinary terminology.

Abstract: This article attempts to determine the sources of enrichment of terminology in the field of veterinary parasitology based on the German language material. The relevance is defined by the lack of comprehensive research on the methods of forming terms and terminological phrases in the German language that denote invasive, i.e. parasitic, animal diseases. The goal lies in the analysis of the most effective methods of word formation that denote invasive diseases, as well as the nature of linguistic material used for supplementing the terminological system of veterinary parasitology. Description is given to the methods for borrowing terms; semantic, morphological-syntactic, morphological and syntactic ways of formation of terms. The scientific novelty consists in carrying out comprehensive linguistic analysis of terminological nominations in the German language in the field of veterinary parasitology. It is proven that the corpus of German terms denoting invasive diseases contains a large number of borrowings of Greek-Latin origin, which allows forming the hybrid terms. Among the composite terms, the overwhelming majority are two-word terms of Greek-Latin origin. In the group of multicomponent terminological phrases, most common are the two-component substantive phrases, the generic component of which is the nomination of animal disease, while the specific concept is the name of a particular animal species.

The importance of studying new abbreviations in the veterinary vocabulary is explained by the influence of extratextual factors, in particular, rapid development of veterinary as a science aimed at prevention and treatment of animal diseases, and protection of population against diseases common for human and animal. The results of the analysis allow to conclude that the most productive types of reduced units in a veterinary dialect of the German language are initial three-letter abbreviations, initial-syllabic acronyms and partially abbreviated words consisting of initial abbreviations and notional words.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the activities undertaken by the Council for German spelling to adapt the officially published Rules of German Spelling to the standards of the written communication in the German-speaking community. The subject of the research is the changes in the official rules of German spelling presented during the IIIth speech of the Council for German spelling in 2016. Without downplaying the importance of the German spelling reform as one of the most major language reforms of the latest century, the author of the article analyzes minuses of the reform, in particular, the fact that the reform did not fully fulfill its purpose to simplify the rules and reduce exceptions but made writing in German even more difficult. In her research Khakimova uses general research methods such as analysis, generalisation and systematisation of academic information and facts (legislative acts, researches, and mass media). Despite a great number of researches devoted to the German spelling reform, there haven't been many articles on the latest changes in the German spelling rules lately. The novelty of this research is caused by the fact that the author analyses these changes in particular. The practical importance of the research is caused by the fact that the author reviews the latest edition of German spelling rules which is undoubtedly an interesting issue for both teachers and wide audience participating in the written communication in German and being interested in German culture. The author concludes that by analysing the experience in spelling reforming of the German community we may develop sociocultural technologies of managing the language policy under the conditions of language reforms that can be used in all languages and communities.
