Origins of Public Education in the USA: Josef Niff’s Teaching Activity Abstract: The article is devoted to teaching activity o Josef Niff who materialized Pestalozzi’s ideas into socio-cultural reality of the New World during the first half of the 19th century. The article studies contribution o an American teacher into transformation of teaching about nature-based education, defines the main socio-cultural factors of his activity and provides a comparative analysis of Pestalozzi’s and Niff’s pedagogical conceptions.
