Abstract: The author of this article examines the current problems associated with the admission of a foreign state and its part into the Russian Federation. As the author notes, the first and main problem of legislative regulation of the admission of a new subject to the Russian Federation is the legislator's ignoring of some possible options for the entry of a new territory into the Russian Federation on the rights of a subject. The Federal Constitutional Law is silent about the possibility of including a foreign territory into the Russian Federation with its entry into the existing subject of the Russian Federation.
