Abstract: The subject of the study is the optimization of the process of professional training of policemen, which will ensure the achievement of levels of preparedness of employees for police activities. The policemen preparedness to act competently, meaningfully and actively in the specific conditions of the operational situation will contribute to his professional self-determination and career growth. The parameters and pedagogical conditions for optimizing the professional training process substantiated in the study contribute to increasing the level of preparedness of a policeman (the level of his initial qualifications) and create conditions for the professional development of a policeman when performing professional functions in solving future official tasks. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that the parameters have been determined and pedagogical conditions have been developed for optimizing the process of professional training of policemen, which are aimed at the professional development of an employee who is ready and able to perform professional service tasks in any position held with his further specialization. Reasonable levels of professional preparedness of policeman can be used to clarify the qualification requirements for this activity, as well as when assigning employees to various positions, to other units or services (departments), during rotations or career moves.

Abstract: The subject of the study is the general professional initial training of police officers aimed at the formation of the personality of the subject of professional activity – a police officer as a citizen, defender of life, health, rights and freedoms of citizens, the interests of society and the state, a patriot of his Fatherland. The purpose of the study is the theoretical substantiation of the model of general professional initial training as the first stage of professional training (initial level of professional training of police officers), police officers first recruited, which is aimed at the formation of the personality of police officers with a basic level of general professional knowledge, skills, personal qualities and readiness to implement them in further professional activities. On the basis of the formed basic knowledge, skills, skills, professional and moral ideals, values and ethical norms, a police officer already within the framework of general professional initial training should become a person ready and capable of mastering new general professional knowledge, skills, abilities throughout his professional life. In conditions of insufficient general education and physical training of citizens accepted for training and increased requirements for the personal and professional qualities of modern police officers, it is necessary to rebuild the existing professional training, i.e. reformat the content of the educational process, forms, methods, means, technologies of training at the initial stage. The need to make changes in the professional training of police officers, who were first recruited, is caused by the increased requirements for their daily activities. At the present stage, a police officer needs to have formed basic general professional knowledge, skills, skills and personal qualities. Among them: respect for the honor and dignity of citizens, self-demanding and responsibility, determination and decency, morality and dedication, initiative and stress resistance, readiness for interaction and cooperation, physical fitness, readiness for the lawful use of force and special means, including firearms, etc.

Abstract: The research subject is theoretical review of professional training programs for newly enrolled police officers, implemented in the last decade in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The review covers 15 professional training programs for police officers underlying the educational process at a particular educational institution. The research analyzes the dynamics of gradually adopted changes to professional training programs for police officers. The author emphasizes the necessity and feasibility to clearly substantiate the adoption of various changes to the current programs in modern conditions. The author concludes that preparation of police officers for their future service in modern conditions according to various programs, and changes to these programs, should be aimed at the formation of the personality of the officer as a professional. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the conclusion that the renewal of the human capacity of internal affairs bodies aimed at the development of a police officer as a person with formed personal qualities, skills and expertise, is impossible without radical transformation of the current professional training programs.

Abstract: The research subject is the formation and theoretical substantiation of general professional training of police officers employed for the first time, aimed at the development of the personality of the subject of professional activity. The author considers the key problems of the current system of professional training of police officers employed for the first time, and analyzes the results of police officers educating based on the example of a particular educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The author suggests evaluating the effectiveness of general professional training by evaluating the officers’ compliance with the requirements of the profession. The author uses analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature on the issue of the study, pedagogical modeling, questioning, diagnostic testing of police officers at the educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, etc. The research methodology includes the system, system-pragmatist, personal-pragmatist and competency-based approaches. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the fact that well-thought general professional training of police officers employed for the first time helps form their ability to act reasonably and promptly in particular conditions of the operational situation. It helps form their professional self-identification and develop regardless of their educational background and positions.
