Abstract: The research deals with the peculiarities of the use of full-fledged verbs (without taking into account verbal forms - participles and adverbs) and nouns in the annual large press conferences of Vladimir Putin for the media in 2013, 2015. One of the aims of the study was to determine the frequency characteristics of the use of verbs and nouns in the speeches of the President. The second aim was to compare the obtained characteristics by year, as well as with the established frequency norms of the Russian language. The third aim was to identify the current spiritual orientations of the President and trends of their development. For technical text processing free program RapidMiner and MicrosoftExcel were used. In our work, we used the method of content analysis, including statistical and semantic text processing. The most frequent verbs and nouns in the speeches of the President were determined. They were compared to the years and the established frequency norms of the Russian language. With the help of the content analysis method, the actual value orientations of the President were revealed, which did not contradict the trends of development of political and economic situations in the country and the world. The approach described in the paper can be applied to the study of the speech of other politicians.
