Abstract: International humanitarian law provides protection to persons, who do not participate, or ceased to participate in the armed conflict. The four Geneva Conventions are devoted to protection of such persons. This article is devoted to the study of protection of such persons, with due attention to the civil population and the prisoners of war in the international armed conflict.
