Abstract: The Convention on Biological Diversity was issued in Rio-de-Janeiro on June 5, 1992. Its main goals it to keep biological diversity, provide for stable use of its components, and equal and fair mutual profi ts, related to use of genetic resources, including necessary access to genetic resources including provision of access to genetic resources with due regard to all the rights to such resources and technologies and due fi nancing. The monograph, which is subject to the review, is devoted to analysis of experience of practical implementation of the provisions of this Convention, regarding the turnover of genetic resources and use of traditional knowledge in various countries and continents. It is of interest for the Russian readers, who are interested in problems of legal regulation of turnover of genetic resources not only in Russia, but throughout the world.
