Spirova, E. M. Symbol as an Anthropological ConceptionAbstract: There is quite a number of works devoted to the symbol. Symbol is studied from all points of view. Philosophers speak of the symbol as a cognitive term and they discuss the ontogenesis of the symbol, its difference from a sign, hermeneutics of a symbol and symbolic nature of culture. However, very rare symbol is viewed as an important category of philosophical anthropology.
