Strukov, A. V. Criticism of the Theories of Evangelistic Grounds for Socialism and Marxism in archpriest John Vostorgov’s works

Abstract: At the present time both Russian and foreign philosophers speak a lot about the close connection between Christianity and socialism. Such sayings as ‘Jesus Christ is the first communist’ and ‘God told to share with others’ are quite famous nowadays. In this respect, it seems quite topical to come back to the works by a distinguished figure in Orthodoxy, John Vostorgov who was shot by Bolsheviks in 1918. A great number of his books and articles were devoted to dethronement of such stereotypes.
