Abstract: Prohibition of discrimination (also known as a principle of non-discrimination) is undoubtedly an integral part of legal regulation and protection of human rights of any individual. This article contains analysis of development of this principle, of various universal and regional sources, clarifies the definition of discrimination, classification of objects and subjects of regulation. The author also includes the stuyd of mechanisms of practical, consultative, mediatory, quasi-judicial, and judicial mechanisms, aimed to apply the provisions of international law on non-discrimination.
