Abstract: Formation of legal institution of citizenship of the Republic of Abkhazia has started from the moment when the USSR fell apart, declaration of independence of Abkhazia, end of the war with Georgia in 1992-1993. Among the difficulties related to formation of the citizenship of Abkhazia is definition of this institution as one of key constitutional institutions.
