Abstract: In order to form the method of uncovering and investigation of crimes in the sphere of illegal turnover of precious metals and stones, one needs to study and define legal position of these values in the state. The criminal law establishes what crimes should be punished, but the provisions on legal activities with precious metals and natural precious stones is defined by norms of other spheres of law.
