Abstract: This article is devoted to the social opinion as the measure of social control over the activities of the internal affairs bodies. The study shows that the social evaluation of such activities is dependent on a number of factors: the technical and criminalistic support, professionalism of staff, crime-solving rate, staffing level, mass media.
