Abstract: As the author notes, the experience of development of European cities calls for much attention and scientific study, since these cities have truly been the playgrounds of progressive ideas. This article continues the author's study of local self-government in the Great Britain, and is devoted to history of local self-government in the Great London, as well as to the recent changes in it.
