Abstract:
This article examines the problem of historical-cultural significance of virtual reconstructions of places of commemoration and creation of digital museums in the context of spatial turn in cultural sciences. “Places of commemoration” are viewed not only as the objects of virtual reconstruction, but also as the sources of social constructs and social practices, as the elements of cultural capital of the city. In this vein, the projects of digital museums can be viewed as the program for creation of commemorative environment, which in turn, contributes to formation and development of the sense of solidarity in the society. An interdisciplinary approach is realized through the use of methodology of historical and culturological studies, with consideration of the so-called spatial turn in cultural sciences, as well as technologies of virtual design and mathematical modeling. Formation of commemorative environment and civil identity is intensified by any form of reference (including virtual space) to the places of commemoration as to the landmarks of social memory and tradition, key components of historical capital of the city. The projects of virtual reconstruction (creation of digital museum) of memorial places using software platforms with an open code OpenSimulator should be perceived as “augmented reality” of historical capital of the city.

Abstract:
The object of this research is the urban planning solutions of territorial development. The subject is the determination of peculiarities of development of urban planning solutions influenced by the factor of having a border. The capabilities of border areas are viewed as a combination of all resources existing within its limits. I this case, urban planning potential of border areas includes a particular set of factors (natural resources potential, infrastructure, demographic, etc.). The conducted analysis demonstrated the need for elaboration of a mechanism of development of border areas, with competent and accurate legislative regulation, considering positive and negative criteria, and reducing the latter to the minimum. The research of urban planning solutions, carried out in the context of the existing and anticipated risk factors, showed that risk factor pertains to natural-ecological, socio-demographic and infrastructural spheres. The researchers have previously covered the question on the development prospects of transboundary regions on the basis of Russia-Kazakhstan border cooperation, but mostly within the framework of geographical and social disciplines [4, 11, 10]. This article is first to view the solutions and risk factors emerging in formation and further development of territorial spaces from the perspective of urban planning activity. The scientific novelty consists in determination of positive and negative factors that impact the development of Russian-Kazakhstan border zone. In the course of study, the author determine the criteria affecting the advancement of urban planning solutions of a border area. The criteria used for assessing the risk factors give grounds for further long-term forecasting.

Abstract:
The subject of this research is the architectural and style peculiarities of the mansion of G. I. Kroll. The object is the Harbin architectural landmarks built in the early XX century in the New City area. Presently the are in a critical condition. Their physical state testifies to the upcoming demolition of the unique objects of Russian Harbin. The author examines the historical aspect of construction and functionality of the objects, architectural specificities, and current physical state of the architectural landmarks. Special attention is paid to the architectural-planning peculiarities of the constructs: pattern, decorative elements, style. The main conclusion of the conducted research consists in the need for urgent restoration works of the structural elements and façade reconstruction of the landmarks. Layout of the two objects, interiors of all indoor spaces, and surrounding environment are subject to repair. These works would take place in the context of the new functionality of the objects – “Russian Harbin” hotel. Such approach would allow to not only preserve the objects of Russian architecture, but also reproduce the distinct environment of Harbin of the early XX century. The scientific novelty lies in conducting an on-site inspection of the constructs to find damages in structural elements, do measurements, develop reconstruction projects based on the results of determined architectural and style peculiarities of the landmarks.

DOI: 10.7256/2310-8673.2020.3.33515 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=33515
Abstract:
Visual image of modern Perm resembles the images of bear. Most recognized in urban environment is image of a bear in sacrificial pose (“bear-pray”). This image reflects a phenomenal “core” of Perm archaic cultures of pre-Christian time. Myths and legends about Bjarmia and Parma are currently depicted in the artistic-stylized form in the objects of Perm’s urban environment. The image of “bear-pray” is captured on the facades of public buildings, street lightening, small architectural forms. Painters, architects and designers explain their reference to this image as imposing “Perm character” to their works. At the same time, in festival movement such image of bear is overshadowed by other bear-themed compositions: polygonal “rainbow” bear of the “Great Perm” tourist brand, polygonal bear of the mega festival “Perm Period. Modern Age” in white and red colors. It is demonstrated that Perm animalistic style with its stylized images that retained semantic and symbolic features, can be viewed as the foundation for realization of the strategy of city’s geocultural branding for Perm and other cities of Ural Region. It is suggested to use art potential of animalistic style, useful for visualization of aesthetics of urban environment, through reference to the practices of arranging street space of Perm.

Abstract:
The object of this research is the historical quarter of Old Vladivostok called “Millionka”. The article is focused on the problem of designing tourism attraction as an imaginary site. The goal consists in analysis of the strategy of such designing. The research materials contain the publications on Millionka in digital media of Vladivostok, information from the website of the City Museum of Local Lore, YouTube video of a tour. Methodologically, the article is based on the discursive analysis of the texts, which allowed viewing the peculiarities of communication strategy on designing a tourism attraction by outlining the frames of perception, central themes and concepts that form representation on Millionka, as well as determining the combination of discursive genres. The conclusion is formulated that the design of a tourism attraction is a specific cultural product that relies on the practice of creation of an “imaginary site”. The historical discourse demonstrates milestone in the existence of Millionka and allows concluding on functionality of its space as a palimpsest. Leaning on H. Lefebvre’s concept of the production of space applicable to the practices of designing an “imaginary sire”, analysis is conducted on the two forms: representation of space and space of representation. The author reveals the key peculiarities of the design of Millionka within the frame of “uniqueness and unusualness”, explores the basic strategy of exotization of the Other using the techniques of mythologization, proxemics and all-factor communication. The author underlines prevalence of the strategy of “revision of a site” and consumer discourse in designing a tourism attraction.

Abstract:
The goal of this article consists in assessment of possibility of existence of transregional agglomeration between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan based on evaluation of the criteria of composition of agglomeration. The subject of this research is the composition of the oilfield service polycentric small urban agglomeration Oktyabrsky – Tuymazy located on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as the composition of the Almetyevsk polycentric agglomeration located on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, which provisionally includes both indicated agglomerations along with other potential zoned of influence of the largest cities of agglomeration – Almetyevsk and Oktyabrsky. The criteria for delimitation contained economic, integration and geographical. The object of this research is the municipal formation of city district level and municipal districts (8 municipal formations on the part of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and 12 municipal formations on the part of the Republic of Tatarstan). The research covers the period from 2014 to 2018. The conclusion is made that the oilfield service polycentric small urban agglomeration Oktyabrsky – Tuymazy and Almetyevsk polycentric agglomeration, which are formalized to one or another degree, do not correspond with the classical approaches towards assessment of agglomerativity, as they do not have a balance between functional roles of the core and the periphery of agglomeration. At the same time the strength of economic gravitation of the municipal formations between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan leads to the establishment of Almetyevsk – Oktyabrsky polycentric transregional agglomeration, which provisionally includes both of the indicated agglomerations, and which in accordance with the classical parameters for assessing delimitation and agglomeration level can be considered a more developed agglomeration than the initial ones.
