Abstract:
The article deals with history and condition of geographical terminology of Crimean Tatar language, the brief overview of Crimean Tatar scientific terminology development is given. The work also indicates the range of sources that can be useful in the study of this problem. This article aims to study and to describe the principal periods of Crimean Tatar scientific terminology development, geographical one in particular, also to determine the perspective of its development. The subject of the study is geographical terms and adjacent nomenclature. The methodological and theoretical basis of the research were works of G.H. Bukharova, Z.S. Kamaletdinova, G.K. Konkashpaeva, I. Kerimova, O.D. Rustemova, and others. In this work were used a descriptive and historical-comparative method. To date, geographical terminology in the Crimean Tatar language has not been the subject of special linguistic studies. The importance of the study of this terminological system is emphasized by the need for historical analysis, review, and systematization of geographical terminology, as well as the need to streamline the processes of term formation for today and in the future. It is impossible to characterize the current state and identify the prospects for the development of geographical terminology in the Crimean Tatar language without assessing what contribution scientists have made in the past to the development of this problem and what significance their positions had for their time. This explains the need for the historical digression – the definition and study of the origins of geographical terminology, the main stages of development of the term system.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.29069 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=29069
Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of verbalization of the perceptual space of the text type "description". The subject of the study in this work is the functioning of inactive verb predicates of visual perception and intermodal semantics in the descriptive artificial texts, extracted from the Russian prose of 19-20 centuries. Within a block of predicates of visual perception, there are distinguished 11 lexico-semantic groups (LSG) of predicates (predicates of placement, position, scope of subject and others), among the units of intermodal semantics there are five LSG (units of representation of auditory, olfactory, tactile, gustatory, undifferentiated modalities). The principal method is semantic-contextual, implying the analysis of semantic transformations of predicates on the context, also a structural-descriptive method, meaning the study of the semantic of verb predicates in the descriptive type of a text and their classification. The novelty of the study is due to the new approach to the description of the perceptual space, as a result, follows the analysis not only of units of visual perception but also predicates of intermodal semantics, implicitly representing the spatial relations in narrative text. The study of the predicates revealed as a result of the LSG analysis is important for the study of the writer's idiostyle.

Abstract:
The author examines such aspects of the subject as the detection of causes of occurrence, ways of expressing a phenomenon of similarity of the external form of words of lexical parallels in Uzbek, Turkish and Kazakh languages. Semantic change of words, similar in their form but different, opposite in meaning in Uzbek, Turkish and Kazakh languages, is studied. The views on the problems of lexical parallels in the process of translation and language learning are presented.By comparing the meanings of the words in three Turkic languages, the reasons why words once similar in meaning obtained different meanings are revealed, and these words are united by a common term "lexical parallels". This research is based on various methods: comparative-historical method, the method of sampling linguistic material from lexicographical sources, the method of comparative and component analysis, and comparative-parametric method of linguistic research. Study of the lexical parallels will allow detecting the original meaning of the words (idioms), unique way of development of each language, the manner of world perception by native-speakers of a particular language, making conclusions regarding the linguistic view of the world, inherit in this nation. Interlanguage lexical parallels are a universal linguistic phenomenon. They appear between kindred and non-kindred languages. Commonly, they appear between two kindred languages. Lexical parallels between Uzbek and Turkish, Uzbek and Kazakh languages appeared as a result of semantic changes of a Turkic word (idiom) in two kindred languages. In the process of study lexical parallels cause certain difficulties for students. However, these difficulties can be avoided by applying the approaches outlined above.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.29421 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=29421
Abstract:
The subject of the article is emotional utterances in literary texts. The research is aimed at revealing and studying the pragmatic potential of such utterances. Pragmatic potential is defined as additional information that needs to be decoded. A literary text has been chosen as the source of emotional utterances because it creates the circumstances for the fullest functional manifestation of their pragmatic potential. The author studies in depth such linguistic means of expressing emotions as nomination, description, tropes and figures of speech. Research methods include definition, semantic and pragmatic analyses of linguistic means of expressing emotions, selected by the continuous sampling method. The processing of the factual material has been also performed by the method of contextual determination. The novelty of the paper is proven by the combined approach to the analysis of emotional utterances and by revealing hidden meanings of both expressed and implied emotions. The analysis has shown that emotional utterances help to better understand the speaker’s illocution, and that the intensity of illocution is influenced by the choice of linguistic means. The expression or implication of emotions intensifies the speaker’s intention and creates a stronger pragmatic effect. Furthermore, it has been revealed that emotional utterances may perform several illocutionary acts, but it is the context that uncovers true intention.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the N.V. Gogol's note in the album of Dr. I.P. Postnikov, left at 20th of May (N.S.), 1844. Scant information about the owner of the album gave scientists a reason to doubt the fact that Gogol and Postnikov were acquainted, thus, to doubt the authenticity of that note. Besides the issue of attribution, the question of interpretation is also raised. It is not known what Gogol did on that day, thus the interpretation of that note causes difficulties. We have proposed a variant of interpretation. All available information about the owner of the album and also about his acquaintance with Gogol is analyzed and systemized. Based on the biographical information about the doctor Postnikov the arguments in favor of the authenticity of the note in the album are given. The interpretation of the note in the context of New Testament reminiscences is proposed that gives the right to suggest that in the album note Gogol returns to the question of the role of art as a service to God.

Abstract:
The subject of the research is culturally stereotypic symbols, with the help of which the culture manifests itself in the modern ethnographic film "24 snow" by M. Barynin. Audiovisual symbols of the North express metonimic relations between primary content and secondary meaning, and by means of their semantic meaning they create a film image of the North as a territory of not only particular ethnoses but also as a bank of natural and ethnocultural resources, which is attractive because of its untouched, harsh, and dangerous nature, and at the same time filled with meaning life. The principal linguistic approach to the film discourse by Y. M. Lotman allows using such research methods as the method of interpretation of symbols, the method of describing the film frames, the method of vocabulary interpretation. The novelty of the research lies in the analysis of the meaning of non-verbal symbols, captured in the frames of the film from the point of view of the linguistic approach to film discourse.

Abstract:
Despite the fact that many domestic and foreign linguists write about the role of evaluative vocabulary in the text, not only in advertising one, to date, there is no common term for the complex concept, which is named "evaluative vocabulary" in our research. Given idea is formulated in one form or another in scientific works of E. M. Galkina-Fedoruk, M. N. Kozhina, E. Pesotsky, N. P. Belousova, and others. However, unfortunately, in science, there still exists insufficiently investigated problems, referring to the role of evaluative vocabulary in magazine advertising text. A description and the analysis of this phenomenon are the aims of our study. We have selected examples of texts of magazine advertising in Orenburg by random sampling as a material of the study. In the article, the following methods were used: analysis, description of the language material, as well as the method of statistical processing of the results. The scientific novelty of the study is due to determining the role of the use of evaluative vocabulary in the modern advertising magazine text at the regional level. This issue has not yet been subjected to scientific and practical consideration. The theoretical significance of the work is due to the fact that it attempts to determine the importance of language means, in particular, evaluative vocabulary, as a means of influence in the advertising regional text. The results of this study can be used in the further study of linguistic means of influence at different linguistic and speech levels, as well as practical materials and results can be used in the creation of texts of journalistic style.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the connections between the early prose of the modernist writer and the novel Gulliver's Travels. The relevance of the topic is due to S. Beckett's attention to English Enlightenment and the work of D. Swift. The aim of the study is to examine the current perceptions of early S. Beckett's art in the aspect of the artistic "dialogue" analysis. Convergence between the novels of S. Beckett's novel More Pricks Than Kicks and the novel by D. Swift of Gulliver's Travels appears at the level of subtext and form harmony in the plots of the stories about Gulliver and Belaqua. Gulliver's travel, covering a long way from Lilliput to New Holland and return to England, accompanied by transformations in the image of the hero from "man of the mountain" to "despicable Yahoos", is projected in different facets to Belaqua Shua's "circle of the earth". The study of literary and philosophical parallels in S. Beckett's novel is based on a combination of the system-structural, comparative-historical methods, and hermeneutics. The novelty of the research is due to the following facts: interpretation of the story matches, the category of the movement, the dichotomy of body and soul, ties with the world in the minds of the characters allows to actualize innovative, aesthetic tradition of novelistic prose of the eighteenth century and uncover experimentalist modernist novel in Samuel Beckett's works. The results of the study can be used in the course of studying the history of foreign literature and a special course on the history of the modernist novel.

For the first time, the rhetoric of confrontation in the military-political discourse of China and the United States is concluded based on a comparative analysis of the speeches of the heads of states of China and the United States. As a result of political language functions analysis, descriptive analysis of an integrated cognitive-structural model of the discourse, and also creating cognitive maps of the speeches of US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the hypothesis of the existence of the confrontation rhetoric between the heads of the two countries, who entered into a dialogue-confrontation even before the first official meeting, was confirmed.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the work of the famous Christian philosopher St. Ephrem the Syrian, through the theological work of whom Old Russian thinkers obtained gospel truth. In the article, St. Ephrem the Syrian's work the Hymn on Paradise is analyzed, which has not yet been the object of special scientific research. Like many other works of the author, it played a special role in the formation of dogmatic consciousness, in the transfer of theological knowledge, and the establishment of doctrinal truths that influenced the process of formation of Christian ideas about the life of believers. Also, the text in poetic form is not only a Christian picture of the world, but also the famous writer-missal introduces humanity to the divine world order and reveals the mystery of salvation through the revelation given to him. In the article, the comparative method of research is used, which provides a better understanding of Christian views on the afterlife. The principal conclusion of the conducted research is the fact that prayer and liturgical structure, the analysis of which the article is devoted to, makes it possible to trace the connection that exists between the earthly and heavenly world and testifies to the perfect harmony of being, the purpose of which is the stay of humanity in eternal bliss and finding it in constant communion with God.

Grotesque Coding of the Attitude toward the Occupation of France in First Novels of Boris Vian
// Philology: scientific researches.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.29401 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=29401
Abstract:
The subject of the study is the grotesque reflections of the occupation period in France in first novels Of Boris Vian. The shocking news about the payments of pensions to collaborators of the Nazi regime to the present day makes us turn again to the topic of the occupation of European countries in the Second World War and actualizes the reflection of this period in the literature. These considerations determined the choice of the author by considering the work of Boris Vian. Firstly, the first novels by Vian were created directly during the occupation of France, and secondly, a writer is known for his non-engagement. For this reason, many scholars of Vian's art do not give a proper evaluation of his political views, describing him as a dreamer, cut off from the war by lively parties and jazz. The methodology of the work is determined by the tradition of historical and literary research: the writer's work is examined in connection with the literary and socio-political process of the era. The novelty of the research is due to the decoding of the deep meanings of the civil identity of the writer encoded in comic grotesque, pataphysically constructed world of his first works. The author of the article concludes that such violent desire to make the reader laugh in his first novels, which reaches a grotesque limit, looks like an attempt, if not to laugh in order not to cry, then certainly to laugh in order not to think. It is shown that Vian will carry the awareness of the war through his entire life even being cut off by non-engagement. The rebellious tendencies encoded in his first novels and which have not received the worthy embodiment in real acts, invisibly become the reason of duality of the personality of the writer, and in some cases and are frankly expressed in his creativity.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.26012 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=26012
Abstract:
The research deals with the peculiarities of the use of full-fledged verbs (without taking into account verbal forms - participles and adverbs) and nouns in the annual large press conferences of Vladimir Putin for the media in 2013, 2015. One of the aims of the study was to determine the frequency characteristics of the use of verbs and nouns in the speeches of the President. The second aim was to compare the obtained characteristics by year, as well as with the established frequency norms of the Russian language. The third aim was to identify the current spiritual orientations of the President and trends of their development. For technical text processing free program RapidMiner and MicrosoftExcel were used. In our work, we used the method of content analysis, including statistical and semantic text processing. The most frequent verbs and nouns in the speeches of the President were determined. They were compared to the years and the established frequency norms of the Russian language. With the help of the content analysis method, the actual value orientations of the President were revealed, which did not contradict the trends of development of political and economic situations in the country and the world. The approach described in the paper can be applied to the study of the speech of other politicians.

Actualization of Semiotic Antinomy "Immobility - Motion" in Ekphrasis of a Statue
// Philology: scientific researches.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.29501 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=29501
Abstract:
The article presents the research experience in the aspect of intermedia correlation of poetry, sculpture, and music. The object of the study is the English ekphrasis of the statue - immobility, and motion. The fundamental purpose of the present study is to identify the main factors (linguistic, extralinguistic) in the discourse space of ekphrasis, revealing the contradictions between the form and its content, and determining the process of transformation of the semiotic beginning of the statue into a single aesthetic whole. The study showed that the opposition of immobility to motion, realized in the binary opposition "lifeless matter – a living being", is represented by multi-level linguistic means (lexical, morphological, syntactic), as well as a number of techniques of artistic expression. It is revealed that the inclusion in the discourse of markers, explicating the interaction of verbal and plastic, mainly enhances the effect of immobility, while the intermedial interaction of verbal and musical creates the illusion of motion, vital activity of the statue. At the same time, the depicted referent appears before the reader not only as an object of semiotic and aesthetic development. In ekphrasis of the statue can be traced two main motive (the motive animating images and enigmatically motive mysteries) that contribute to the development of the hermeneutic of ekphrasis – its interpretation, reflection as a unified stylistic harmony. Appealing to the background knowledge of the reader, ekphrasis determines the variability of its readings, thus producing a process of artistic communication, a kind of "dialogue" with the reader, as a result of which the intermedial poetic discourse is enriched with new meanings.

DOI: 10.7256/2454-0749.2019.2.25635 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=25635
Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of pause functioning in the play The Seagull by A.P. Chekhov. The aim of the study is to identify the code-and-sign function of the pause in the work of the Russian playwright-writer. The subject of the study is the pause, which is understood as a code-and-sign structure, regulating the course of action on the stage and, at the same time, translating the meaningful information about the relationship between the characters of the play and their personalities. At the same time, the sign features of the pause in the play The Seagull are due to the idiostyle of the author himself. Specific of the subject and the aim of the research require the use of a set of analytical methods in the framework of cognitive-semiotic approach. Methods of introspection, comparative analysis, and interpretative information analysis are used. The scientific novelty of the study is due to the fact that at the first time the pause in the play The Seagull is examined from the position of the theory of signs within its code-and-sign structure. Meanwhile, the regularity of the pause and its function of translating the meaning encoded by the author of the work are established. The main conclusions of the article are: 1) the pause in the dramatic works is due to the author's writing style. 2) the pause as an important code-and-sign element in plays of A.P. Chekhov violates the traditional understanding of the structure of the drama; it becomes a new trend in the field of theatrical art.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the vocabulary borrowed from the Russian language. The object of the study is the vocabulary denoting the names of pieces of clothes of Olonkho Epic. The aim of the article is to identify the borrowings denoting pieces of clothes, in the course of which the following issues are solved: determination of the composition of the borrowed vocabulary of the names of clothes; general characteristics of thematic groups; consideration of the features of their functioning in the Olonkho epic. The primary attention is paid to the determination of the factors of penetration of lexical borrowings into the Olonkho language space. The study uses various methods of linguistic analysis: the method of continuous sampling, comparison, and descriptive method. The methodological basis of the study was the works of scientists on lexicology and linguostylistics: D. N. Shmeleva, L. P. Krysin, P. A. Sleptsov, A. T. Hrolenko. The specificity of the functioning of words of foreign origin in a folklore work remains an insufficiently studied object of research, which led to the novelty of the study. The main factors of penetration of lexical borrowings into the Olonkho epic space are alliteration and assonance. Since in the description of the portrait of the Olonkho hero the most important role belongs to his attire, the detailed description of his clothes also served as the basis for the appearance of lexical borrowings in the Olonkho epic.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the semantic analysis of the phraseological units of Crimean Tatar language, reflecting the emotional state of a person, and also the study of idioms in the framework of communicative linguistics. Phraseological nests and fields, consisting of somatic idioms, are presented as interconnected system elements. The object of the study is phraseological units of idiomatic character. Idioms are phraseological units that have stability, reproducibility, expressiveness, and the meaning of which is not derived from the sum of the meanings of their word components. Idioms were selected from the dictionaries by the method of continuous sampling. The methodological basis of the research is the works in the field of phraseology by N. M. Shansky [18], A. M. Emirova [20-27] and other scientists. In the process of the analysis of the somatic phraseology of the Crimean Tatar language, microfields of phraseological units with the meaning of positive and negative emotions, emotional states and reactions were revealed. Calculations showed that the microfield of somatic phraseological units characterizing negative emotions exceeds the microfield of phraseological units expressing positive emotions in a 2:1 proportion.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is a semantic and etymological analysis of determining the nominative features of lexical units and the classification of totemic nominations of the bear in Even language. As a result of the study of comparative analysis of evens' totemic vocabulary with other languages of the Manchu-Tungus linguistic group, the peculiar features of lexical units functioning in subdialects and dialects of Even language are determined. The survey of ethnographic and folklore studies reflecting the cult worship of the bear in the culture of the minority ethnic group, which led to the emergence of a whole complex of rituals, is carried out. In the work, the method of linguocultural analysis, contextual, comparative, and introspective methods were used. The novelty of the study is due to the fact that at the first time the linguistic analysis of totemic names of a bear possessing the ethnospecific features in the linguistic picture of the world of the Evens is carried out.The relevance of the study is due to the importance of language research within the anthropological paradigm of modern linguistics, and an insufficient study of zoonymic vocabulary in the dialects of the Even language, revealing the features of the linguistic picture of the world of the people.

Abstract:
The object of the research is the study of words of foreign origin with gradual semantics in modern Russian language. The subject of this research is the paradigmatic relations of borrowings with gradual semantics in modern Russian language. The author of the study identified and analyzed words of foreign origin with the relations of the degree synonymy and the relations of the degree antonymy. The aim of this research is to analyze the paradigm of borrowings with gradual semantics on the material of new borrowings of the late XX - early XXI centuries. In this work, the following methods are used: the method of linguistic description, the method of classification, the method of directional sampling, the method of component analysis. Borrowings with gradual semantics are regarded as an insufficiently studied subject in linguistics. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that at the first time borrowings with gradual semantics, taking into account their paradigmatic relations, are described in linguistics. Conclusions about the specifics of borrowings in general, and the graded semantics of borrowings, in particular, are made.

Abstract:
The subject of the analysis is the titles of works, published in unique editions of philosophical and socio-political journals of the XVIII century, which were released by Russian educator of the second half of XVIII century N.I. Novikov: "Zhivopisets" ("Painter"), "Vechernaya zarya" ("Evening dawn"), etc. The title in the magazines of the XVIII century performs communicative and stylistic functions – informative (including informative and compositional) and influencing one. Taking into account the headings with "zero" and "negative" information content, the impact is recognized as a functional dominant. Title metatext is considered as a toll of modeling a polydiscursive linguistic personality of N.I. Novikov. Semantic-denotative analysis proves that headings characterize the content, structure, genre form, and also provide other information about the organized text space. They organize the composition of the journal; mark the sequence of presentation of various fragments. The substantive parameters of the polydiscursive linguistic personality model are clarified based on the analysis. Titles of journal texts are systematized in structural, functional and stylistic aspects; titles with "zero" and "negative informativeness" are highlighted. The author includes headings aimed at double actualization of readers' experience and knowledge in a separate group: they are the point of the prospectus for the text and the point of retrospection for the social context. Metacognitive and metatextual functions of the header are identified.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the features and translation into Russian of texts of English-language business communication (on the example of business letters). The material for the analysis was the English texts of business communication - letters of various types with which the authors worked in the framework of professional activity. Taking into account that the content of the elements of a business letter that make up a document, their design, and placement on the form of the document are set by standards, modern basic standards and differences in the design of business letters in domestic and foreign practice are analyzed, the need for knowledge of the basic standards in the field of office work when translating business communication texts is justified. In the process of research authors used methods of continuous sampling, linguistic observation, description, and the comparative method. The conducted analysis of numerous samples of business letters allowed to describe the basic algorithm of their translation into Russian, taking into account the structural and linguistic features of business letters and including a review of the letter in order to understand its general meaning and determine the type, pre-translation analysis of the text, the translation itself, editing the translation and bringing the translation text in accordance with the structure of business letters and the rules accepted in the domestic office work. Considerable attention is paid to the aspect that is important in the translation of documents but often is ignored by authors and translators - the quality of the translation. The work has practical significance, which manifests itself in the possibility of using the research materials for pedagogical and educational purposes, in the development of textbooks, courses, seminar programs, and also in the professional sphere when translating relevant texts from English into Russian.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is the fundamental aesthetic issue in Charles Baudelaire's philosophy of art. Such main topics as the symbolic concept of correspondences, the categories of beauty, high, ugly, issues of symbolization in art, imagination and fantasy, imagery and allegory, artistic conventions, synthesis of arts and synesthesia, the connection of art and nature are studied. In his artistic criticism of painting, sculpture, music, literature, drama Baudelaire advocates the ideals of romanticism, as opposed to positivism and naturalism, sharply criticizes the spirit of bourgeois art. The multi-aspect nature of the present study has predetermined the application of a number of methodological approaches: philosophical and aesthetic approach, art analysis, comparative, interdisciplinary methods. The main conclusion of the conducted study is the conclusion about Baudelaire's paradoxical aesthetic views, sharply contrasting with his ideally elevated aspiration to God in his philosophy of art and art criticism with his poetic creativity, "flowers of evil", and their demonic origin. It is shown which of the system-forming ideas of Baudelaire's philosophy of art do not lose their relevance today.A special contribution of the author to the study of the topic is that it is conducted on the original material, both the theoretical statements of Baudelaire and his analysis of various types and genres of art. The author introduces the previously unexplored aspects of early French symbolism into the domestic scientific circulation.
