Abstract: The author studies how Freudism conceptions infl uenced the artwork of the 20th century as well as art studies. Freudism conceptions of art by Jacques Lacan, Gilles Deleuze, Jean-François Lyotard, Manuel Serra, Julia Kristeva, Patrick Baudry and others were not only absorbed by post-modernism esthetics but proved their living ability in its framework. Having reconsidered the esthetical experience of the basic neo-Freudian schools of the 20th century Freudians focused on studying various levels and spheres of manifestations of unconscious language and structure in art.

Abstract: The article is devoted to a unique genre in music during the 20th century, -instrumental word composition, the phenomenon which hasn’t been fully studied in art history yet. Even though composers use a variety of concepts within the framework of this genre, all of them render a tragic content of their music pieces. The purpose of this article is both to view peculiarities of using literary texts in tragic instrumental compositions and to defi ne the constant of their relationship with the music material.

Abstract: The article analyzes some signifi cant reforms of the Russian ballet art which deepened its content and raised its artistic level. The fi rst reform is connected with Tchaikovsky and the second one was related to composers involved in Diachilev Theatre (such as Stravinsky, Prokofi ev and others). Even though their creative work is well studied, the role of their ballet music reform has not clearly defi ned yet. The article is the author’s attempt to fi ll in the gap.

Abstract: The article considers the various forms of globalization of cinematographic culture at the turn of the 20th- 21st century. The author traces back how Hollywood has turned from an American cultural phenomenon into a transnational corporation producing fi lms specially made for being distributed all over the planet. The author also analyzes particular variants of globalization processes in cinematography, from Bollywood in India to foreign fi lms made by Russian cinematographers.

Abstract: This article is an attempt to describe some phenomena typical for formation of the Russian humanitarian science. The author narrows done the epoch from the ‘thaw’ to the break-up of the USSR to the two great philosophers Mikhail Bakhtin and Gyorgy Lucacs. While Bakhtin’s ideas back in those times gave a perspective for development of art and cultural studies and therefore were very popular, it took longer time for Lucacs’ ideas to be recognized by the Russians. It is explained by the fact that throughout his creative path Lucacs was becoming a successive Marxist and interest in Marxism weakened after the catastrophic fall of communism in Russia. A good example of Lucacs’ Marxist esthetics is his late fundamental work on esthetics which is being republished now. However, Lucacs’ ideas did have a rational kernel and lately many researchers have realized it and have been addressing again and again to his philosophy and esthetics. Despite all the difference in methodological approaches of these two philosophers, the author of the article manages to fi nd what they had in common.

Abstract: The article analyzes the ‘Aus dem Land der Roten Socken’ series of the author’s paintings and sculptors creating an image of a general model of socio-political space where a GDR specifi c speech behavior has being stamped for many years.
