Abstract:
The subject of this research is the spectacle of Gennady Abramov (1939-2015) – the creator of experimental troupe “Class of Expressive Flexibility” in the theatre run by Anatoly Vasiliev “School of Dramatic Art”, which was formed together with the students of the faculty of contemporary dance of the Humanitarian University as a synthesis of the traditional archaic elements with the theme and language of contemporary dance. The object of this research is the compositions of contemporary art in interaction with the archaic forms of dance folklore. The work examines the so-called “Rusalii” due to the ability of attaining new images, as well as new vital powers in the art of dance. The spectacle at hand is analyzed from the perspective of correlation with the works of choreographers-modernists of the XX century. At the same time, the author notes the substantial differences between the oeuvres created in various cultural artistic periods. Scientific novelty consists in referring the spectacle of Gennady Abramov to the circle of yet insignificantly studied phenomena in contemporary dance that are suggested to mark as the “post-folk dance”. The specificity of the latter, on one hand, lies in the affiliation of (post)modern culture (post-culture) and associated with it ironic rethinking of the already existing themes, images, and meanings; and on the other – it is aimed at identification of the new meanings and values due to inclusion of the folklore elements into the fabrics of (post)modern composition. In Abramov’s works, the archaic folklore elements are subject to reframing and reflection, nevertheless endowing the composition with the energy and vitality.

Abstract:
This article examines and compares the philosophical-culturological concepts of Frank and Jaspers. Main attention is turned to the problem of unity of the world history and culture. The author determines the place of historiosophical problematic in the context of metaphysics of unitotality of Frank and existential philosophy of Jaspers. Rejecting the teleological way of structuring the meaning of world history, Frank does not doubt the very possibility of philosophical contemplation of the eternal and universal in culture (socio-historical existence) and the need for determination of the timeless aspects of social life. Jaspers, in turn, believes that the historical scope of the final human existence is always limited, and unity of mankind can be apprehended as just the postulate of philosophical faith. The unity of world history in the concepts of Frank and Jaspers cannot be cognized through the assignment to all nations and cultures of a single and universal fore them purpose. Both concepts consider history as a path to suprahistorical. History (culture) as a specific reality is possible due to the correlation of a human with suprahistorical. A man can create the history and exist within history, because experience the “dissatisfaction with history” and desire to go beyond its boundaries.

Marital relationship in merchant family in the early works of A. N. Ostrovsky

DOI: 10.25136/2409-8744.2017.2.22564 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=22564
Abstract:
The subject of this article is the marital relations of various generations in a merchant family described in the early compositions of A. N. Ostrovsky. In the literary world, Ostrovsky holds a role of the “daily life writer” of the merchant class. His contemporaries perceived the plays of the dramaturge not just as artistic oeuvres, but also “paintings of life”. Having responded to the emerged in society interest for the life of different social classes, Ostrovsky, being well familiarized with various aspects of merchant life, made it open for the wide audience. Dramaturge’s plays were considered as sketches from the daily life, and established a new stereotype in the perception of merchants. The goal of this work consists in determination of the level of authenticity in depicting one of the personal aspects of a merchant family – the marital relationship. The author examines the descriptions of the relationship between wife and husband in the early compositions of A. N. Ostrovsky (“The Young Man's Morning”, “Celebratory Sleep Is That Before Dinner”, “The Storm”, “Picture of a Family Happiness”, etc.), as well as the reminiscences of representatives of the merchant class of the mid-XIX century). The scientific novelty of this research consists in the use of dramaturgical compositions as a historical source alongside the attempt to reveal the nature of marital relationships of the older and younger generations of the merchants over the period of 1840’s – 1860’s. The work demonstrates that the pattern of family life of the merchants of older generation, described in the early works of Ostrovsky, was based on the traditional principle taking its roots from “Domostroy” – full authority of the head of family and servile obedience of the wife. Marital relations of the younger representatives of the merchants were more diverse. Memoirs of the representative of merchant class of this time are extremely poor in description of the relationship between husband and wife, which can be explained either by the desire to keep their life private, or in lack of vivid memories.

Museum souvenir: the evolution of museum
// Man and Culture.

P. 82-91.
DOI: 10.25136/2409-8744.2017.2.17712 URL: https://en.nbpublish.com/library_read_article.php?id=17712
Abstract:
The object of this research is the modern culture in globalized world. The subjects is the museum souvenir as an example for the analysis of processes that take place in museum industry, which in turn, is a part of the institutional culture. The goal of this work consists in determination of the key reasons that lead to the changes in museum industry. The set goal is realized through the analysis of the phenomenon of museum souvenir in museum practice. The authors examine the causes of evolution of the modern museum, as well as analyze the transformations in museum practice, and their correlation with the phenomenon of museum souvenir. The conclusion is made that in the second half of the XX century, human civilization entered the urban era. The development of industrial cities has changed the structure of social relations; an individual with the desire for maximal comfort has come to the fore. Achievement of comfort implies the consumption of goods and services, as well as longing and ability to own. A man of consumer society wants to have everything that surrounds him, including culture. Culture transforms into a form of entertainment, becomes popular, understandable, and available. The latter is supported by the development of tourism industry. A tourist, getting in touch with diverse culture around the world, expects it to be comprehensible and entertaining. For “interpreting” the local culture onto the language of mass consumption, have been created the “museums for tourists”, where a person can feel comfortable. The new museums do not require from the visitors the efforts for cognizing the “historical memory of culture”, but rather present the “images” of culture that fit in the global and generally accepted categories. Museum turns into a “souvenir shop”, recreation center, and thus, integrates into the system of global marker. In the process of such integration, special place belongs to a museum souvenir, which allows the museum succeeding as a trademark, adjusting the cultural code to public, and making profit. Such processes testify to the changes in basic function of a museum: it no longer need to accumulate the objects of historical memory, but rather create the “images” of culture.
