Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of various points of view of mostly Russian philosophers and lawyers on such important definitions as ‘general methodology’ and ‘methodology of law’. Based on the analysis carried out, the authors suggested their own idea of what the mentioned above terms actually meant.
