Priorities of the ecological position of the EU within the concept of stable developmentAbstract: From the middle of 1970s, the protection of environment became one of the top priorities in the policy of the EU, both at the state and the Community level. However, in practice, it was limited to command and control functions and some legislative acts. And it’s only since 1990s, when the European Commission offered the EU the new Directive on control functions of the EU in the sphere of natural resources and protection of the environment of the European continent, with much attention to the supranational control.
