Abstract: This article evaluates the historical aspect of development of state contracts on purchase of grain for public needs. The author analyzes the normative legal acts, which regulate conclusion of such contracts, as well as the opinions of leading specialists. Based on the analysis of practice, the author provides ideas for amendments, which could improve the efficiency of turnover of grain.
